William Slye 

News has been received here by A. D. Merrit of the death of William Slye, 
which occurred at the home of his daughter near Sioux City. Mr. Slye was one 
of the early settlers of this locality, but moved back to Maryland some 25 
years ago, returning later to Lanark, Illinois, where he resided for several 
years.
