The greater part of his life was passed in Fairhaven. Five years ago he received the appointment as high way patrolman, at which time he moved with his family to Mt. Carroll where he lived until the time of his death. Those of the immediate family who survive him are his wife, one daughter, Emma; two sons, Orion and Vernon; his mother, of Chadwick two brothers, George of Fairhaven, Lawrence of Chadwick; and a sister Mrs. Ross Coleman, of Milledgeville. He was baptized in infancy and two years ago he united with the Lutheran church of Mt. Carroll, of which he was a faithful member to the time of his death. He was a quiet unassuming man with strong convictions. In his work he was conscientious and faithful, taking his task seriously. He never spared himself nor even thought of himself when duty called. He was highly respected by all who knew him and the esteem in which he was held by his church is revealed by the fact that he was nominated recently for one of the important offices in the church. His funeral services were held from his sister's home in Milledgeville and from the Lutheran church in Chadwick, Tuesday afternoon. Rev. J. H. Fetterolf, officiating, assisted by Rev. W. E. Bridges of Chadwick. Additional Comments: Volunteer transcription - no family connection.
