He died at his home July 5, 1923 aged 68 years, 2 months and 3 days. On March 1897 he was married to Rosa Fielder (Fiedler) who preceded him in death on March 13, 1898. He was married again to Marie Fielder (Fiedler) April 28, 1910 who lives to mourn his death. Also four brothers, Christian, Valentine, and George of this vicinity, and David of Kansas and three sisters, Mrs. Wm. Schuetten of Oklahoma, Mrs. Lewis Collins of near Petersburg and Miss Kate Dupes of this vicinity. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran church, Bluff Springs, pastor R.B. Garten, D.D. officiating and were largely attended.
