Obituary of Henry S. Johnson - Morgan, Cass Counties, Illinois


Henry S. Johnson of Ashland Dies: Funeral Sunday

An 82 year old Ashland retired farmer, Henry S. Johnson, died at 3:20 o'clock
Friday morning at a Jacksonville Hospital after an illness of several months.

He was born Sept. 4, 1872 in Wiesels, Germany, son of John S. and Anna
Christine Jacobs Johnson, but had resided in the United States, having come to
this country at the age of 11 years.

Mr. Johnson was united in marriage with Hannah Theilen on Feb. 10, 1900.
Surviving are his wife and five children,  Paul of Springfield; Otto,
Chandlerville; Mrs Henrietta Smedley, Mrs Dora Davis, and Andrew Johnson, all
of Ashland; one brother and one sister, John C. Johnson, Chandlerville, and
Mrs. Charles Daniel, Philadelphia, Ill..  There are eight grandchildren, and
four great grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Gainer Funeral Home at Ashland, where friends may
call.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday (Standard Time) at the funeral home,
burial in Ashland Cemetery.
