Obituary. . . Sidney, IL

ELLA BLOCK OF SIDNEY DIES

Ella Block, 86, of Sidney died at 7 a.m. Friday, June12,1981, at the
Champaign County Nursing Home.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 15, at Freese
Funeral Home in St. Joseph, the Rev. Richard Hartshorn officiating.

Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery in Sidney.

Mrs. Block was born Dec.5,1894 in Indian, a Daughter of Henry Jacob and
Elizabeth Gerwin Lehmkuhler.

She married Hilbert A. Block Jan.20,1916 at Humingburg, Ind.  He died
Jan 22, 1972.

Survivors include two sons, Orville H. Block of Homer and Everett C.
Block of Sidney; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five sisters and a foster brother.

She was a member of the Champaign County Farm Bureau, Sidney United
Church and Pythian Sisters.

Mrs. Block and Her husband lived on a farm southeast of Sidney until
their retirement in 1950.

She had lived in Champaign County Nursing Home since 1973.

Memorials may be made to the Sidney United Church.
