Obituary. . . Champaign, IL

Esther Block

Esther Block, 80, of Champaign died at 3:12 p.m. Saturday (July 20,
1996) at Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mittendorf-Calvert-Morgan
Funeral Home, Champaign Chapel, 2400 Galen Drive, Champaign.  The Rev.
Stephen Foster officiated.  Burial was in Grandview Memorial Gardens,
Champaign.

Visitation was scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Block was born Dec. 3 1915, at Homer, a daughter of George and
Beulah Eaton Gidding.  She married Cecil Block on Jan. 1, 1936, at
Homer. He survives.

Also Surviving are two daughters, JoAnn Hansens and Peggy Neville, both
of Champaign, and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Block was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

She was a graduate of Homer High School.  She was a homemaker.  She was
a member of Countryside United Methodist Church, between Sidney and
Philo.  Her hobbies included gardening and quilting.

Church.
