Obituary. . . Sidney, IL

Sarah Frances Block,75, of Sidney died at 7:50 a.m. Monday (Dec. 1,
1997) at Manor Care Health Services, Champaign.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Freese Funeral Home,
202 W. Main St., Sidney, with Randy Ross officiating.  Burial will be in
Mount Hope Cemetery, Sidney.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Block was born on Jun28, 19223, at Tome, Ga.., a daughter of Donald
F. and Carrie Mull Turner.  She married Everett C. Block on March 13,
1944, At Rome.  He survives.

Other survivors include one son, Edwin Block of Lincoln; two daughters,
Donna Nichols of Farmer City and Kathie Mc Gowan of Hollis, N.H.; six
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia C. Apperson
of Monticello.

She was preceded in death by....

Mrs. Block was a Navy veteran of WW ll.  She was a Member of the
American Legion, The Pythias Sisters and the Sidney United Church of
Christ.

Mrs. Block retired from the University of Illinois, where she worked as
an administrative assistant at the Institute of Aviation.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
