Illinois Gazette July 11, 1877, page 4. Obituary Isaiah Wright Mr. Isaiah Wright,one of the oldest citizens of St. Joseph, died this morning at 8 o'clock. Mr. Wright was a native of North Carolina. He moved to Indiana in an early day and built the first log house in what is now the city of Greencastle, in that state. He has lived in this part of Champaign Co for thirty years or more. He filled the office of Justice of the peace for a long time after the organization of St. Joseph township. He was respected by all. We don't think there was a more honest man in the township than father Wright. He was in his 86th year at the time of his death. July 9, 1877. Note: Isaiah was the son of Richard Wright, Jr. (Rowan Co., NC) & Mary Nancy Morgan. He was married 3 times: 1.
