On the Eve of His Marriage



Taylorville, Ill., Oct. 11 - At his home in Stonington township, ten miles 

northeast of here, Robert Dalluge, a farmer and bachelor 32 years old, took 

his own life this morning by shooting himself in the head with a shotgun. He 

was to have been married next Thursday to Miss Matilda Bloome, of Petersburg, 

Ill. His inability to get the necessary cash for his marriage is supposed to 

have been the cause of the act. He left letters to his mother and intended 

telling them he was going to a better land, and giving directions as to his 

burial.
