Date of death was October 28, 1916, place - Christian county, Illinois SUDDEN ILLINESS RESULTS FATALLY MR. AND MRS. R.H. WHITE BEREFT OF THEIR ELDEST SON BY SPINAL AFFECTION Hiram Elwood White, eldest son of Mr. And Mrs. Roy H. White, died at the family home east of Pawnee Saturday, October 28, 1916, at 10:30 p.m., following a short illness from spinal trouble. The deceased was 9 years, 3 months and 20 days of age, being born July 8, 1907. Besides the parents he is survived by two brothers, James and Harwood, one sister, Ruth, his grandmother Mrs. T. P. Burt of Edinburg, his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Hiram White of Springfield and many other relatives. The lad possessed a singularly affectionate and sunny disposition that greatly endeared him to all with whom he came in contact and his sudden death brings deep sorrow to all who knew him. Private funeral services were held at the grave in Horse Creek cemetery Monday afternoon, October 30, at 2 o’clock. Rev. A. L. West, pastor of the Edinburg Christian church, conducted the burial rites. A mixed quartet sang "Sometime We’ll Understand", and "Asleep in Jesus".
