Sarah Jane Durbin,was  born near Lebanon, Missouri on 4 June, 1874, the 
daughter of Josephus and Margaret 'Peggy' Logsdon Burtle. Sarah was married to 
John Vincent Durbin on 19 May 1891 at Lebanon, Missouri. The couple moved to 
Christian County, IL and became the parents of 3 sons and 7 daughters.  Sarah 
and John V. Durbin farmed in Bear Creek Twp. Sarah Jane died in Taylorville, 
IL Christian County on 29 Apr 1943 with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, 
Taylorville, IL.

John Vincent Durbin, was born 11 Nov 1867 in Christian County, IL, the son of 
John VanBuren  and Elizabeth M. McKinzie Durbin. John Vincent married Sarah 
Jane Durbin of Lebanon, Missouri on the 19th May, 1891. The couple farmed in 
Christian County, IL all their lives. They had 3 sons and 7 daughters. John 
Vincent Durbin died 21 Jan 1941 at Taylorville, IL and is buried at Oak Hill 
Cemetery in that city.
