He arrived in 1875 at the age of 23. His wife Anna Hillrichs was also born in Germany and they were married in Christian Co., IL on 26 July 1884. Chris was born in Filsum, Leer, NI, DE and his parents were Jann Heyen Brunken Bruns b. 24 Nov 1819 in Filsum d. 9 Aug 1893 in Filsum, Germany and his wife Janna Christophers Elling b. 22 Aug 1820 in Lammertsfehn, Germany d. 10 Jan 1874 in Filsum, Germany.
