Chester, a small son of Mr. and Mrs. Mart Culp is seriously ill of pneumonia.   Miss Alice Kurtz of Hutsonville visited Miss Naomi Life last week.  Mrs. Lewis Life was operated on last week and is getting along nicely.   Oma Kellar and sister, Mrs. Wilkin of Annapolis, visited their aunt, Mrs. C. D. Harrington last week.   Dr. S. Cullop has purchased the Lake 80 acres near York, paying $80 per acre. Clarence Clements, a seven year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Clements, died Saturday of pneumonia.  Funeral was held at the Bailiff church Sunday by Eld. T. J. Wheeler.  Interment in the cemetery nearby.  The family have the sympathy of the community in their sad bereavement.   On account of the scarlet fever in Marshall, Misses. Cecil, Norma and Lowell Bell of Marshall High School visited home folks from Thursday till Monday.   Miss Adline Guyer was given a surprise Monday evening by a number of her lady friends coming in and spending the evening, the occasion being her birthday anniversary.  The evening was spent in pleasant conversation.  She was remembered with some useful gifts.   Miss Wanda Holaday who is attending the Hutsonville High School, fell down stairs at her boarding place on Thursday morning.  She received some minor injuries and is unable to resume her school work this week.   Miss Irene Crow is employed to teach a spring term at the Black on Walnut Prairie commencing March 24th. Wesley Life is able to be up about the house, we are glad to note.   John Thomas was a Terre Haute visitor Friday and Saturday.   Mrs. Joseph Ralston was given a surprise Friday evening by about 30 of her lady friends coming in and reminding her that it was her birthday. The evening was spent pulling taffy.  All went home saying they had spent a pleasant evening.   Thomas Lindley, one of the oldest men in this secion, died last Wednesday morning at his home near Annapolis, aged over eighty-four years.  The funeral was held at the Friends church on Quaker Lane Saturday.  Burial in the Lindley cemetery near West York.   Allen Lindley of Montana was called here Saturday by the death of his father, Thomas Lindley.   Miss Ara Smith of New York City is a guest of Dr. G. F. Smith and family.   Charles Cunningham of Annapolis was in town Monday.  Miss Mary Miller accompanied him home to stay awhile.
