Buckner, of West York, is one of the oldest, best known and most highly respected citizens in either Clark or Crawford Counties. Christmas was his eightieth birthday. No man has ever laughed more, told more funny stories or made more hearts glad within eighty years than has Mr. Buckner, hence his large circle of admiring friends. Mrs. Buckner is a rare cook and a charming entertainer. Only those who have been fortunate enough to sit at her table can appreciate what a Christmas dinner of her cooking would be like. Mrs. Buckner planned the dinner as a surprise on her husband by inviting in the near relatives and friends. The following being a partial list: Grandma Richards, the mother of Mrs. Buckner, T.W. Richards and family, Ceo Rains and family, Murlen Jeffers and family, J.W. Richards and family and Joe Hutchison were down from Marshall to enjoy the day. The last mentioned fact ensures that the dinner was throughly enjoyed and disposed of in due and ancient form. It was surely a happy Christmas gathering. After this the usual exchange of greetings, presents, ect. The company took their leave, wishing that Mr. Buckner might live eighty years longer if by doing so it would bring them many more glad days and good dinners. A.
