John Anderson. One of the guests at that wedding was present with others Monday afternoon at the Newlin home north of Porterville to celebrate the sixtieth wedding anniversary of the couple. She is Mrs. J. B. Newlin, formerly Emma Lincoln. Guests at the wedding who are living now but who were unable to attend the anniversary celebration were: William Lamb, Arthur Hill, Frank Barr and Eva Paige. Other guests of the afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Claude Newlin, son Dewitt and daughter Jean, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hand, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Mann, Mr. and Mrs. Clint Mann and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Conover and daughter Ruby, Clara Faught, Alma Price, Melissa Cox, Walter Newlin and daughter Charlotte, Brady and Alice Newlin, Minnie Buckner, Rex Newlin, Ernest Correll and Doris Barrett. Guests at the wedding, not living now were Mr. and Mrs. Thornton Newlin, Mr. and Mrs. James Barr, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Newlin, Mr. and Mrs. Linson Newlin, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Newlin, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Holmes, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Lamb and family, Woodford Newlin, Mary Ferrell, Roe Newlin, Celia Colter, J. B. Newlin, J. A. Newlin, Jennie Barrett, Milo Hill, Laird Newlin and Rev. John Anderson. During the afternoon Mrs. Newlin donned the gray bonnet she wore on her wedding day and recalled the eventful day in 1874. Gifts were given the couple, together with congratulatory wishes. Mr. and Mrs. Newlin went to housekeeping on the farm where they now live, the family home of Mr. Newlin, who has spent his entire life there. Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Newlin: Clyde, of California, Claude of Annapolis, Carrie of Texas, Curtis, at home, Cora of Michigan, Cloe of Indiana, Clair, who lives near the old home, and Clay, deceased.
