School House Burned

6 February 1918, Clark County (IL) Democrat

The Grand Turn school house was destroyed by fire Monday
evening.  It is not known how the fire originated, but it is
thought to have started from an overheated heater.  The books
and desks were saved.  The building was erected six years ago
originally cost $900, and many improvements have been added
since, so that the district suffers a heavy loss.  Wayne Welsh
was  the teacher.
