Obituary of Carrie A. O'Dell Bennett

December 1990

Carrie A. Bennett, 88, of Casey, died at 4 a.m. today, Monday, Dec.
31, 1990 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Ind.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Markwll Funeral Home,
Casey, with the Rev. Ronnie Gross officiating.  Burial will be in
Casey Cumberland Cemetery.  Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the
funeral home.

She was born Jan. 2, 1902 in Jasper County, Ill. to Frank and Stella
Spencer O'Dell.  She was married July 21, 1920 in Marshall, Ill. to
Vess Bennett.  He died May 19, 1979.

She was a homemaker and member of the Walnut Church of Christ.

Surviving are a son, Denzil Bennett of Rt. 1, Martinsville; daughters,
Hazel Fain, Rosalie Roan and Mary Weir, all of rural Casey; brothers,
Charles O'Dell of Kingsbury, Ind., Russell O'Dell of Tucson, Az., Doit
O'Dell of Rt. 1, Martinsville, and Allen O'Dell of Casey; sisters,
Gertie Addington of Elkart, Ks. and Hazel Vaught of Del Ray Beach,
Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, one great-grandson, two
brothers, and three sisters.
