Boyer June 1921, Martinsville (IL) Planet Again death has removed from our midst a man who was respected by all who knew him.  A man who was kind to his family and neighbors.  A man whose word was as good as his bond. We shall miss him be we trust it is his gain for God doeth all things well. James M. Boyer, son of John and Lydia Boyer was born May 21, 1853 in Dolson township, Clark county. In childhood he was converted and joined the M. E. church at Green Moss where he served as class leader for several years. On the 12 day of Sept. 1878, he was united in marriage to Erminda Mills, daughter of Rev. S. Mills of Westfield.  To this union was born two daughters Jessie Rockwell of Orange township and Cora Hardway of Marshall, Minn. November 5, 1882 he moved to Orange township placing his membership at Wesley Chapel where he remained a faithful member until death.  For the past five years his health has been failing but through it all he has been patient and cheerful. On the evening of June 4, 1923, he fell asleep without a struggle aged 68 years and 14 days. Not dead, just gone on to meet his Saviour.  He leaves to mourn his departure a wife, tow daughters, four grandchildren, two sisters, one brother and many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral was conducted at Wesley Chapel M. E. Church June 7 by Rev. W. A. Stephens and burial in a nearby cemetery. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/il/clark/obits/b/jmboyer.txt File size: 2 Kb
