He was a retired farmer and minister. He was born Oct. 11, 1913, in Melrose Township to Ray Cornwell and Oma Nidey Cornwell. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Mulvany Cornwell; two daughters, Ronda Olson of White Bear Lake, Minn., and Mary Ann Sweet of St. Anthony, Minn.; two sons, Ron of Edwardsville, and Ray of Savoy; one brother, Ralph of Kermin, Calif., two half brothers, Forrest Stanfield of Prescott, Ariz., and Kenneth Stanfield of Casey; three sisters, Ruby Goss of Jacksonville, Ill., Rosemary Daugherty of West Union, and Betty Richards of Annapolis, Ill.; and six grandchildren. He was a minister at Cooper Chapel, Ohio Chapel and Bluegrass churches and member of Melrose Church of God. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday in Prust-Hosch Funeral Chapel at West Union, with W. Hiram Wofford officiating. Burial is in Bailiff Cemetery.
