She was the oldest of five duaghters born to Ben and Laura Buckner Crow. In 1922 she married Herman "Jack" Cline. He died in 1952. Surviving are three sisters: Lenore Prust and Margaret Miller of rural West Union and Martha Evans of Robinson; three nieces, Eleanor Kearns, West Union, Jean Coioney, Western Springs, and Susan Nestleroad, Martinsville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister, Mary Bradley. ....teacher. She began her teaching career March, 1913 at age 18. She taught in several Clark County Schools until her retirement in 1955. She continued to substitute teach until 1977 making 64 years of continuous teaching that included three generations. In addition to her teaching career, Irene Cline was active in many community organizations. She was a member of the Walter Burdick Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, the REtired TEachers Association, Clark County Historical Society, American Legion Auxiliary, 50-year member Order of the Eastern Star, Marshal First United Methodist Church and had been active in the Burnsides Guild, Boy....Women and Marshall Women's Club. Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 9 at the Prust-Hosch Chapel in West Union. Irene Cline, 86, 108 S. Second St., Marshall, died at 7 a.m. Thursday in Crawford Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Cline was a Marshall school teacher for 63 years. She was born August 7, 1895, in Clark County to Ben and Laura Buckner Crow. Surviving are three sisters, Lenore Prust and margaret Miller, both of rural West Union and Martha Evans, Robinson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack in 1952. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary of Marshall, Clark County Historical Society, DAR, Retired Teachers Association, First United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star of Marshall. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Prust- Hosch Funeral Chapel, West Union. Interment will follow in Marshall Cemetery. Friends may call at the residence of Margaret Miller at 4 p.m. today and again from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Marr-sSnyder Funeral Home, Marshall.
