Obituary of John Adam Coons

Clark County (IL) Democrat, September 11, 1952

 
John Adam Coons was born in Coles County, Illinois, July 25, 1864, the
son of Adam and Elizabeth Coons.  He passed on August 31, 1952 at the
age of 88 years, 1 month and 6 days.

In the year of 1885 he was united in marriage to Flora
Richards.

To this union was born eight children, two of whom, with his
companion, preceded him in death.  Those surviving are three sons and
three daughters, Marion and Adam of Gary and Herman of Martinsville;
Minnie Rolison of Martinsville; Daisy Nickelson of Paris and Alxira
Hutchings of Moline.  He had fourteen grandchildren and eleven great
grandchildren.

In the year 1913 he became a member of the United Brethren church and
remained true to his faith until death.
