Esther married Charles Wesley Cornwell on March 24, 1936. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1959. They leave four children: Mrs. Reta Jean Cutrell, Wapato, Washington; Carol Ann Cornwell and Lowell Cornwell of Melrose, and Hilda Faye Cornwell of Paris, Il. She leaves four grandchildren: Charles and Steven Cutrell, Rene Singleterry and Wesley Cornwell. She has two great grandchildren, Gerald Thomas and Jessica. Also surviving are three sisters-in-law, Erma, Mattie and Kathryn, as well as many relatives and friends. Esther was a loving mother and a good neighbor who will be greatly missed by all. Esther spent her lifetime in the West Union and Melrose communities. Much of her adult life was spent accommodating the public as a clerk in Marvin's Store and the Cornwell's Dry Goods and Grocery stores. Besides that she was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She accepted Christ at an early age and at the time of her death was a faithful member of the Melrose Church of God.
