Findley August 10, 1904, Clark County Democrat, Clark Co, IL Jacob H. Findley, one of the best citizens of Barton county, Mo, was called from this earth July 30, 1904. Uncle Jake, as he was called by all, was born July 22, 1838, in Jackson county, Indiana.  He was converted in the M. E. Church at the age of 20 years and had ever since been true to his Master.  He was married Dec. 29, 1859 to Martha Cole in the state of Illinois.  To this union were born six children four of whom survive him.  He came to Missouri with his family in 1870.  He endured an illness of two years, but bore his afflictions as patiently as any one could.  He expressed his willingness to died and when death claimed him he fell peachfully asleep, safe in the arms of Jesus.  He was a friend to everybody and was dearly loved by all.  He leaves a wife and four children besides a wide circle of friends to mourn his death.  Funeral services were conducted at the family residence Sunday July 3, 1904, by Rev. Saylor of Lamar.  His discourse was taken from John XIV.  His body was interred at the Baker's Grove Cemetery. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/il/clark/obits/f/jfindley.txt File size: 2 Kb
