He was married to Elizabeth Newlin, March 29, 1849. She died Nov. 11, 1874. To them were born eleven children, eight of whom, five girls and three boys, still survive him. Uncle Abe, as he was called by everyone, especially by the younger people, never remarried. He was a quaker of the old style and lived and died in the faith. His only aim in life after he had raised his children to maturity was to try to make the world better by his having lived in it. The funeral services were held at the Friend's church by Rev. Stout of Plainfield, Ind., Tuesday at 11 a.m. after which the remains were laid to rest beside his wife in the family cemetery not far from the church. A Friend.
