All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarch.org/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarch.org/il/ilfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Cindy McCachern mccachern@worldnet.att.net Obituary of Martha Gard 26 June 1914, Hutsonville (IL) Herald Mrs. Martha Gard, residing west of West Union, took carbonic acid Tuesday morning which resulted in her death.  Mrs. Gard is about ____ old and for some time has been failing mentally.  Her condition became worse the first of the week, and though she was watched closely by her children, she obtained a bottle of acid and died about ten minutes after taking it.  She was one of the pioneer residents of Clark county and came from Ohio with her husband Allen Gard in 1861.  She is survived by four children, Alex and ___ Gard and Mrs. Giles Bartlett of West Union and H.
