Helen was the youngest of the five children born to Mr. and Mrs. Gard, whose names are as follows, Irma, William, Ruth and Fred. Helen bloomed into this world as a sweet human flower and was cut down by the grim reaper, we call death, in the early morning of her life while yet the dew of hope, purity and love sparked in the sunshine of her bright and happy life and gave promise of a beautiful and helpful womanhood. The sweet girl was a child of unusually bright intellect and happy, contented disposition, which made her much loved by her parents and associates, and she will be sadly missed in the home where she was the only sun of childhood, the other children having reached the stage of manhood and womanhood. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. T. E. Glendenning from the West Union Baptist Church, and interment made in the West Union Cemetery.
