He had suffered long but patiently with that dread disease consumption. In December 1875, he was married to Miss Jane Rutherford. She died in 1885. In 1891 he was married to Mrs. Ella White Hufflington. To this union were born 6 children, 4 daughters and 2 sons, one son preceding him to the Spirit Land. He professed faith in Chirst in 1892 and united with the 1st Baptist church of Hammond, Ind. He lived a consistent Christian life until death. He bore his afflictions patiently and in full assurance of entering into the mansion of rest which Jesus has promised to them that love and serve Hime. And in his dying hour, he praised God for his saving power. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, 5 children, 1 step- daughter, 8 sisters, 2 brothers and a host of friends. He was a member of the I. O. O. F. order of Hammond, Ind., and also a member of the M. W. of A. order. The funeral services were conducted at the Anderson church Saturday morning. Rev. J. C.
