ELDER HOUSTON OBITUARY
MARSHALL MESSENGER
8-JAN-1874

   At his residence (four or five miles South of Marshall) on the 31st of 
December, of consumption, Elder Houston, aged about 57 years.   
   He was long a minister in the Christian Church.   He was a minister of much 
more than average ability.   He leaves a young wife and a number of small 
children to mourn his loss.   In the death of elder Houston the church losses 
one of its brightest lights and the community one of it’s best citizens.   Elder 
Grant officiated at his funeral.
