At the eighty-sixth session of the Illinois conference of Methodist Episcopal 
Church, which was opened in Mattoon on a recent morning, it was announced that 
a telegram had been received telling of the death of Miss Lizzie Johnson, of 
Casey, who for twenty-seven years as a bedfast invalid had sowed scripture 
bookmarks, the sale of which had profited the church over $20,000. A committee 
of six ministers were appointed to attend the funeral.
