All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarch.org/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarch.org/il/ilfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Cindy McCachern mccachern@worldnet.att.net Obituary of Peter Kohl 29 August 1906, Clark County (IL) Herald Peter Kohl was born the 6th day of October 1836, at Dockenheim, Bavaria, Germany, being one of ten children imigrating to this country with their parents in 1847, locating in Cuyaoga county near Cleveland, Ohio. In 1865 he moved to Clark county, Ill. locating on a farm south of Marshall. Sept. 22, 1867 he was married to Elizabeth Hess and from this marriage four children were born, Edward, Jacob, Frederick and Harry all of whom are living. During the year of 1901 he disposed of his farm and moved to Marshall and one year after was converted to the Methodist faith under Brother White and had been a devoted member of that church until his death. On Sunday the 19th of August he was taken sick very suddenly with what is known as Brights discease, living only eight days when he expired at 10:55 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27 at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 21 days. He is survived by only one brother, Frank Kohl, who resides at Elkhart, Ind. The funeral services were conducted at the family residence on North Hamilton street Wednesday afternoon by Rev. F. W.
