Obituary of Orpha Martin Murphy

Dated about 1980


Mrs. Orpha Murphy, 83, of Marshall, died Thursday evening at the
Burnsides Nursing Home.  Mrs. Murphy was born April 5, 1897 at
Martinsville, the daughter of Ulysses Grant and Margaret Tingley
Martin.  She married Leary Murphy in 1916.

She had taught in the county schools and was a member of the Clark
County Retired Teachers Association and the First Christian Church of
Marshall.

Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Milo (Virgie) Pearce of
Marshall; one son, Dean of Marshall; one sister, Mrs. Reba Ward of
Chipley, Fla.; one brother, Dale Martin, of Martinsville; six
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Moore-Pearce
Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Wilhoit and Bro. G. W. Gibson officiating.
Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery.
