Nicholson Elder Clarence A. Nicholson, son of Oak and Pollie Ann Nicholson was born in Clark county, August 1883 and died at his home in Hymera, Indiana, November 19, 1922, aged thirty-nine years, three months and twenty six days.  He was united in marriage to Nettie Nettleton on February 3, 1904.  To this union was born five children, Bernice, Golda, Ora, Esther and Velma, all of whom survive him.  He lived in the vicinity of Olive Branch church until the fall of 1918, when with his family he moved to Hymera, Indiana.  He was converted at the age of 16 and United with the Olive Branch Baptist church.  He and his future companion were baptized the same day.  He remained a member of Olive Branch until moving to Hymera, when he and his companion transferred their membership to the Second Baptist church of that city.  He began preaching February 1916, and has preached for the Pleasant Star Baptist church since that time.  Soon after moving to Hymeria the church called him for pastor.  He was ordained at Hymera, May 28, 1920.  The church began to grow under his ministry and a house of worship was built. He was privileged to baptize three of his children. At the time of his death, he was serving the following churches: Hymera, Pleasant Star, Prier Grove and also Hidalgo during the week. He served as clerk of the Palestine Association and secretary of the Sabbath school convention for some three years. Besides the loved companion and children, he leaves an aged mother, two sisters, Mrs. Maud Chapman of Marshall and Mrs. Elma McDaniel of Sesser, Ga. and other friends and relatives without number.  In his death the wife has lost a devoted husband, the children a loving father, the churches a faithful pastor, the ministry a true co- aborer, and the Association a faithful servant.  Funeral services were conducted at the Olive Branch church Tuesday morning at 9:00 o'clock by Elder T. J. Wheeler.  Other ministers attending and assisting were:  G. A. Fuson, W. A. Fuson, M. V. Gilbert, and W. P. Chamness. Burial was made in .....
