T. V. Nidey, who passed away at his home, South of Springfield, on the Red Stock Ranch, Wednesday night. Rev. Nidey was widely known thruout Eastern Colorado, loved by all who knew him and appreciated for the years of Christian Missionary work in Baca County, where he started over 50 years ago, when riding a horse 30 and 40 miles to some home or provised meeting place was uncommon, with out and stiplated expense money or salary. He was known as the "Cowboy" preacher. Rev. Nidey was born Feb. 29, 1872, in West York, Ill, coming to this county 50 years ago, homesteading on the place where he passed away. Recently he under went medical treatments in the Halstead Hospital, and was brought home in an ambulance, as his age and health condition were such medical treatments were not effective. An interesting book could be written on the life of Rev. Nidey, as he was a very active man, working hard during the week, spending hours of time getting to and from widely separated religious places. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Eva May Nidey and six children, one died in infancy.
