Obituary of Charles SPITTLER, Clark County, Illinois


Charles Spittler was born in France August 16, 1826, where he
grew to manhood coming to this country with his father's
family, they came west and settled in Anderson township where
he resided until his death which occurred ?, he being at the
time of his death aged 76 years, 8 months and 12 days.  he is
survived by a wife and several children and also two brothers,
Godfrey of Anderson and Frederick of this city.

The funeral took place Monday of last week, Eld. J. C. Craig
officiating, after which the remains were brought to the
Marshall cemetery for interment.  Mr. Spittler was formerly a
strong, hardy man, but had been in feeble health for several
years prior to his death.
