He died of coronary occlusion.  Hurley was the son of Arthur J. and Lily Murphy Veach, who preceded him in death--his father in 1906, and his mother in 1939.  One brother, Leonard, a sister, Julie and an infant brother preceded him in death. He was married to Anna Mae Reed, December 28, 1912, in Danville, Ill., who is left to mourn his passing, beside his three daughters, Irene Robison of Durango, Colorado; Edith Holwick, Winchester, Kentucky; and Faye Cork of Marshall; five grandchildren, Tamsen Gibbs and Sherryl Holwick of Wincester, Kentucky; Vicki Robison of Durango, Colorado; Tony and Timmy Cork of marshall, and one great granddaughter, Lisa Gibbs of Winceshter, Kentucky. Hurley became a member of Five Points Christian Church in 1916, under the pastorate of Rev. Hall.  He was a life-long resident of Auburn township.  He taught school nine years in Clark county, owned and operated a general store for fourteen years, and was a farmer for twenty-five years. Hurley was one of those solid citizens, who was always present when needed.  He was recognized as the official taxi driver, not only for his wife, but for everyone who needed transportation.  He will be missed very much by the older citizens of the village of Clark Center. He was also a helping hand in teaching his grandchildren and many others how to ride horses, of which he had many. He was a man of strong character, honest and loyal to his many friends. He was also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Irwin of Marshall and Mrs. Vada Shaffner of Martinsville; two brothers, Obe and Otto Veach, many relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Moore Funeral home, with Rev. R. C. Mowery, and Rev. Harry Duke officiating. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/il/clark/obits/v/hcveach.txt File size: 2 Kb
