Obituary of Cora Hammond Wilhoit

Mother of Casey Lady Succumbs


Mrs. Cora Wilhoit, age 74, of RR #2 Westfield, passed away
in sleep about 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, unexpectantly, in
her home in Parker township, where she had lived for 54
years.

Mrs. Wilhoit was born January 1, 1892 in Parker township,
the daughter of Arthur and Sallie (Rockwell) Hammond.  She
was married to Sebert Wilhoit on September 27, 1911.

Surviving are the husband, Sebert, daughters, Mrs. Leo
(Marjorie) Davis of Hindsboro, Mrs. Wm. (Wanda) Bell,
Casey, and Mrs. Robert (Eileen) Byrd of Charleston and two
brothers, Clark and George Hammond, both of Martinsville.

Mrs. Wilhoit was a member of the Westfield EUB Church.
Services will be held Tuesday Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. at the
Markwell Funeral Home in Casey.  Interment will be in
Casey cemeter.  Rev. F. R. Brooks of Westfield will
officiate.
