He was married July 3rd, 1891 to Nancy Jane Freeman. To this union nine children were born viz: Four sons, Thomas, Elgin, Illinois; Walker, Elgin, Illinois; Jess, living near Louisville, and Ralleigh, dying at 3 years of age; Five daughter, Mrs. Louella Freeman, Louisville, Illinois; Mrs. Jane Slanrkard, Danville, Illinois; Mrs. Lorine Ries, Aurora, Ill; Miss Leota Hoke, Elgin, Illinois; Mrs. Rovella Peters, Sandwich, Illinois. He was converted and became a member of the Hord Christian Church, December 19, 1891. And has never changed his membership from there during life. He was a man noted for honesty, a good father, a good citizen. He is survived by his companion, the eight children named above, 16 grandchildren, one sister, Margarett Smith, Sailor Springs, Illinois, and a host of friends and relatives not names. The funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. John Baughman, at Old Union Church, January 16th, 1943, burial in the cemetery near by. Card of Thanks We wish to express our deepest gratitude to all who assisted in any way to our need in the death of our father, Mr. Asa Hoke. Also to thank the pianist and singers for the fine music rendered at the church. To the pastor for his encouraging words spoken in this sad hour.
