The Review [Decatur IL] February 12, 1893
Mattoon, Ills., Feb 12.-John Ballenger and his wife Matilda made Friday 
memorable by celebrating the seventy-sixth anniversary of their marriage at 
the Baptist church in this city. Mr. Ballenger is 101 years old and his wife 
94. They have resided with their daughter, Mrs. John Cisna, for many years. 
Appropriate addresses were made in the evening in the church and hearty 
congratulations were extended to the centenarian and his aged bride.
