C. YARD CLERK, DIES Harry A. Cordes, 42, an Illinois Central Railroad employee, died at 10 o'clock Sunday night at his home, 2520 Marshall Avenue. Mr. Cordes had been ill more than three months. Death was due to a heart ailment. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Services will be held from the Church of the Immaculate Conception. The body was taken to Phillips Funeral Home. Mr. Cordes was born August 29, 1902, in Mattoon, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cordes. He had made his home in Mattoon all his life and in 1922, he entered the employ of the Illinois Central Railroad as a yard clerk, a position he retained at the time of his death. On June 15, 1926, he married Margaret Blaine of Linton, Indiana. Surviving besides his wife are a son, Harry Charles, at home and a brother, Carl Cordes of Mattoon.
