She married JOHN QUINCY KINZEL 06 Feb 1878 in Oakland, Coles, Illinois, son of JOHN KINZEL and REBECCA MCLAIN. He was born 24 May 1853 in Eagleport, Morgan, Ohio, and died 18 Jan 1934 in Oakland, Coles, Illinois. As published in the Oakland Messenger: Obituary, Sarah Letitia Zimmerman Kinzel was born on Easter Sunday, April 16, 1854, four and one-half miles south of Oakland. She was the daughter of William Bailey and Louisa Black Zimmerman. She attended school in Oakland and later taught school in this vicinity. She was married to John Quincy Kinzel on February 6, 1878. They lived their entire married life in and near Oakland. Mr. Kinzel departed this life in 1934. Following a heart attack early Tuesday morning, Mrs. Kinzel never regained consciousness after being stricken by her last illness. Mrs. Kinzel had lived in her present home for the last fifty-four years. This couple was blessed with a fine family of eight children; Jessie Gant, Josephine Webster, Lula Bae Cash, Nell Briscoe, Oberlin Kinzel, Leota Laudermilk, Zadah Thomas and Robert Kinzel, all of whom survive their mother except Mrs. Briscoe who passed away Easter Sunday, 1939. Mrs. Kinzel is survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; also surviving are her sister Mrs. Florence Norton of this city. She has been a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church since her girlhood days. She will be greatly missed in this community where she has given of her services unselfishly where she has made so many true and sincere friends. Her loss will be most greatly felt in the circle of her children, where her example of sacrifice and devotion will ever be revered. Funeral services were conducted from the Presbyterian church at 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. O. C. Starn of Valpariso, Ind., officiating. Those from out of the city attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Glen Jacobs, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Jacobs, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kinzel and sons, Mrs. Leota Laudermilk, Obe Kinzel, all of Chicago; Mrs. Marie Pinnell, Miss Ita Briscoe of Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hamblin of Decatur; Mrs. George Tarble of Paris; Mrs. Harry Hunt, Mrs. Everett Norman of Villa Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Reeds, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Reeds, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Reeds of Westfield; Mrs. Jessie Moffett of Indianapolis; Mrs. Josephine Webster of Lafayette, Ind.; Mrs. Helen Cummings of Peru, Ind.; Malcolm Cash of Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. Clem Phipps of Mattoon; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mefford and daughters of Robinson; Miss Florence Gant of Bloomington; Mr. and Mrs. James Black of Mattoon.
