Affeld, Charles Ernest, Underwriter of 175 West Jackson Boulevard, was born
March 10, 1843, in Stettin, Prussia. From 1861-4 he served in the Civil War. He
has been a member of the Board of Trade since 1873. He is a member of the firm
of Affeld, Tonk and Company, agents for the Hamburg-Bremen Fire Insurance
Company, the New York Underwriters Agency, Boston, and General, Paris. He is a
member of the Union League and City Clubs, and other societies.
