Alvord, John Watson, Consulting Hydraulic Engineer of 8 South Dearborn Street,
was born Jan. 25, 1861, in Newton Center, Mass. He has been Consulting Engineer
and Expert to the City of Columbus, Ohio; the United States Steel Corporation at
Gary, Ind.; and to various other cities and corporations. He is Past President
of the American Waterworks Association, Past President of the Western Society of
Engineers, and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of
Science. He is now senior member of the firm of Alvord and Burdick, the well
known consulting hydraulic engineers.
