Armstrong, Frank Hough, Wholesale Grocery Merchant, Clark Street Bridge, was
born July 27, 1853, in Wayne County, Ohio. He was brought up from childhood in
Iowa, and later attended Cornell College, Mount Vernon, Iowa, from which he
received the honorary degree of M. A. At the age of twenty-one he entered the
employ of Reid, Murdoch and Fischer. When Reid, Murdoch and Co., incorporated,
was Secretary; 1909, Vice-President; and since 1914 President of the company. He
is a Director of the Merchants' Loan and Trust Company, and the City National
Bank of Evanston, Ill. He is also a Director of the Presbyterian Hospital of
Chicago, and the Evanston Hospital Association of Evanston. He is a member of
the Commercial Club, the Chicago Club, the Evanston Country Club, the Evanston
University Club and the Glenview Golf Club.
