J. He was educated at the old University of Chicago, and Columbian University. In 1882-4 he was County Attorney of Cook County. He is now Special Counsel and a Director of the Chicago Surface Lines. He is Judge Advocate General of the Illinois National Guard, retired; a Thirty-third Degree Mason, and a member of the Union League Club.
