Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Doyle celebrated her ninetieth birthday, May 21, 1921 in 
Chicago, Illinois. Mrs. Doyle, the wife of a Civil War Captain and the mother 
of Hon. C. J. Doyle, former Secretary of State, is one of the few women who 
carried messages through the confederate lines during the Civil War.
