Harris, a loan agent, was horsewhipped at Clark and Adams streets by Mrs. Frank Cameron, who claims he was responsible for an insult offered her. Mrs. Cameron had a heavy horsewhip, which she laid on with such force that Harris sought safety in flight, leaving his hat. He went to his room at the Saratoga hotel.
