DuPage County Register October 13, 1944
John Minch, village employee at Roselle, lost three fingers Wednesday when he
met with an accident at the pump house.  He is now in the Elmhurst hospital
where the amputations were made.

Mr. Minch was cleaning the pump engine with a rag which got caught in the gears
and pulled his hand into them.
