W. Bacon for many years a well known physician and surgeon on the south side, January 14, 1922. Dr. Bacon was born in New York state and came west with his family and settled in Michigan. He received his degree in Ann Arbor and began his practice in Chicago in 1878. He was surgeon for the Rock Island lines and one of the founders of the Englewood Union hospital. He was a Mason and member of Englewood commandery, Knights Templar, and retired from active practice about three years ago. He was husband of the late Dora Bacon and is survived by two daughters, Rose and Edith James Bacon.
