All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/il/ilfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Kathy Stinson findingthepast@comcast.net February 10, 2014, 10:38 pm Arlington Heights Herald - December 11, 1931 PETER BEYER IS PASSED ON Long Prominent in Arlington Hts.; Breathes Last in California Mr. Peter Beyer, prominently known for many years in civic and business circles. in Arlington Heights, passed away Tuesday at the home; of his daughter, Mrs. Carrie Deutsca at the age of 81. Mr. Beyer, as has been his custom, left about six weeks ago to spend the winter in California. While the cause of death is not known here as the Herald goes to press, it is supposed to be due to a stroke; as Mr. Beyer had suffered previously from minor attacks. Arrangements for the funeral here arc not made; however they will be in charge of the Catholic church. Mr. Beyer early removed with his parents from Gross Point to Buffalo Grove, and became a member of St. Mary's parish there. He married, and farmed al Buffalo Grove, where the Olympia Golf course is now. Four children were born to his first marriage, and one to his second. Moving to Arlington Heights, about the year 1900, Mr. Beyer's, family first lived in what is now the Legion Home on Campbell street; then bought the old Wheeler residence at Euclid and Highland avenues, which is the present Beyer home. In 1908 Mr. Beyer entered into partnership with Mr. H. W. Bocger, and opened an office at the Northwest highway and Dunton avenue. Four years ago that partnership was dissolved, and since thai time, Mr. Beyer has been going to California to spend the winters with his daughters. He was at one time assessor for Wheeling township, also justice of the peace, and member of tho village board. Mr. Beyer is survived by his widow, Mrs. Emma Beyer, two sons, Mr. John Beyer in Chicago; Mr. Paul Beyer in Park Ridge; two daughters, Bertha and Carrie, in California; and another daughter, Miss Catherine Beyer in Arlington Heights.
