Chicago Daily Tribune - June 9, 1918
Former Judge Marshall M. Brewster died yesterday at his residence, 1258 Asbury 
avenue, Hubbard Woods, at the age of 80.  He came here in the early days and 
shortly after the civil war moved to Texas.  President Grant appointed him 
collector of internal revenue at Houston and at the expiration of his term he was 
named judge.  He returned to Chicago about twenty years ago.  He was the father 
of Edward F. Brewster of the Western Book and Stationery company, 427 South 
Wabash avenue.
